Bullying Workshop with our Social Worker

Today, our social worker talked to us about bullying. We learned that:
  • a bully hurts others on purpose
  • there are different bullying roles: bully, victim, bystander, defender
  • bullies can only bully someone if we stay silent
  • people are afraid to speak up because the bully might pick on them
  • There are different types of bullying such as: social, verbal, cyber and physical

We also talked about what we can do:

  • try not to show how sad/scared we are by engaging our mind on other things
  • notice the bullying and know that it's not normal
  • see someone who is alone, invite them to play, say hello

Remember, there will be certain places at school where you will feel safe and other places where you may feel unsafe.
